Sonoma County Chaplains provides free, 24/7 compassionate support and accompaniment for first responders and community members in times of crisis and unexpected loss.
Our trained volunteer chaplains respond alongside law enforcement, fire, EMS, schools, and other community partners throughout Sonoma County. We may be called to support a family after a sudden death, assist with a death notification, sit beside someone in the aftermath of suicide, homicide, an accident, or other tragedy, support first responders after a difficult call, or simply offer a steady and compassionate presence when it is needed most.
Your support helps make it possible for our chaplains to keep showing up—24 hours a day, 365 days a year—at no cost to the people we serve.
New ways to give are coming
Our refreshed online giving page will launch in September 2026, with new and easier ways to support Sonoma County Chaplains, including monthly giving and additional avenues for individuals, families, businesses, and community partners to help sustain this work.

Our name has changed. Our mission continues.
Law Enforcement Chaplaincy Service in Sonoma County (LECS) is now doing business publicly as Sonoma County Chaplains. Our new name better reflects the breadth of the people and communities we serve, while honoring the strong partnerships with law enforcement and first responders that have been central to our work since 1999.
Our legal nonprofit name remains Law Enforcement Chaplaincy Service in Sonoma County (LECS).
