Executive Director Opportunity

Help Carry the Mission Forward

Lead With Heart. Support Those in Crisis.

Law Enforcement Chaplaincy Service in Sonoma County
LECS is a grass-roots, volunteer organization dedicated to caring for those who serve and protect our communities. For 26 years, we’ve been providing on-call chaplains to serve alongside law enforcement officers, and community members, during moments of crisis, loss, stress, and transition, offering presence, compassion, and hope.

Not Your Typical Executive Director
This role is less about the title and more about calling and function. We’re seeking a “roll-up-your-sleeves” candidate with operational responsibility. We are a small non-profit with no office and no employed staff, so you must be a motivated self-starter who can work independently, collaborate with volunteers, and follow through. You will get training from our retiring Executive Director (who we adore) and key volunteers. The role reports directly to the Board of Directors with a monthly report out.

About The Role
In addition to regular operational tasks, you will provide leadership by supporting chaplains, strengthening community relationships, coordinating communications, and helping the organization grow. This role also includes duties volunteering at select events, including our annual charity bike ride that funds most of our work.

About You
You have a deep respect for volunteerism, law enforcement, lead with compassion and integrity, thrive in a grass-roots environment, and value relationships over recognition. Formal credentials matter less than heart, character, and commitment to the mission. We are looking for a person who can independently execute regular operational tasks listed on the job description.

Schedule and Compensation
Part-time duties, a few hours per day on average (working from your home/office), with on-call communication responsibilities supporting a 24/7/365 emergency response organization. Compensation is $75,000 annually. Most communication happens during normal hours, but you should be comfortable with occasional off-hours calls (nights, weekends, and rare middle-of-the-night situations). These are the exception, not the rule, but they come with supporting a 24/7/365 emergency response organization.

How to Apply
If you feel called to serve those who serve others in this unique Executive Director role, we would love to hear from you. We are reviewing candidates now and will begin conversations on a rolling basis, so submitting sooner is strongly encouraged. No fancy application is required. Just email your resume and/or a brief summary of your background, along with a short note sharing how our mission resonates with you.
